Act It Out Junior

Act It Out was created to give young people the tools to build confidence, creativity, and connection - especially in a world that often feels increasingly disconnected. Drama teaches empathy, deep listening, and truthful storytelling - skills that not only enrich performance but help shape better humans.

For too long, drama has been the missing piece in many performing arts studios. Act It Out brings it back - redefining what it means to train as a Triple Threat in Australia. Our goal is to change the landscape of musical theatre by giving students a solid foundation in acting, empowering them to tell stories with truth and emotional impact. This creates more dynamic performers and, ultimately, longer, more versatile careers in the arts.

We understand that one of the biggest barriers to offering drama in dance studios is finding qualified drama teachers. That’s where Act It Out steps in.

Our comprehensive program includes step-by-step video guides and easy-to-follow written content, designed so any teacher - whether they’re trained in dance, singing, or drama - can confidently deliver the material. If your regular teacher is away, the curriculum is seamless enough for someone else to jump in without missing a beat.

We offer three age-specific streams:

  • 6–8 years

  • 9–12 years

  • 13+ years

Each level is designed as a 40-week progressive journey, building skill, confidence, and ensemble connection over time.

Act It Out is not just about building better performers - it’s about building better studios. It opens up a new revenue stream, increases enrolment potential, and uniquely, offers a fantastic opportunity to attract more male students, who are often underrepresented in dance-based environments.

At the heart of Act It Out are the 5 C’s:
Confidence, Communication, Creativity, Connection, and Consent.
Our exercises are built to foster these qualities, with a strong emphasis on body autonomy and advocacy - an essential conversation for today’s young performers.

And you’re not alone. We’ll support you with:

  • Full marketing kits

  • Team training

  • Ongoing 24/7 support throughout your subscription

Act It Out acknowledges the Dharawal speaking people, who are the Traditional Custodians and owners of the land on which we work and play today. We pay our deepest respects and highest gratitude to the Elders, past and present, who have protected the lands and waterways and all life within since the time of the Dreaming, and to all Indigenous People who honour and keep the community and culture alive today. Always has been, always will be, Aboriginal land.
